Join a dedicated healthcare team serving the heart of the Midwest region. This full-time Registered Nurse (RN) role in the float pool offers a dynamic environment where you will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical competence and adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a safe care environment.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections following policy guidelines.
• Deliver quality nursing care including medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, improve quality, and support clinical decision-making.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring items to comply with standards and enhance patient safety.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage with patients and families to enhance their experience and provide education supporting health outcomes.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.

Experience

One year of nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state or Compact Licensure.
• Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role requires considerable mental concentration and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
