General Summary

The RN in this position provides direct patient care, demonstrating clinical expertise in perioperative and post-anesthesia settings. You will ensure patient safety and quality outcomes by adhering to established protocols and collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families within established guidelines.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and communicate findings to the care team.
• Document all patient care activities accurately to support compliance with quality measures.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes and patient experience.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Adapt positively to changes in healthcare dynamics and pursue ongoing professional development.
• Perform delegated tasks to maintain quality and patient safety.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of employment.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Mental and Physical Demands

This role requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various physical movements such as standing, turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals, may occur. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
