Together, we can shape the future.Job Description:Position Objective: Support the plant manager to optimize production.Key Responsibilities:Production ManagementAssume full ownership of production activities including becoming the process expert within the facilityAssist with the development and implementation of plant production activities and schedulesHold morning meetings with teams to understand trends and resolve production issuesTroubleshooting and repair basic electrical/electronic equipmentChange belts and idler pulleys on trough-style conveyorsSchedule and monitor production schedules to achieve production goalsStrategize and execute action plans for growth in areas where the charts identify weaknessesMonitor all areas of productivityCollection analysis and input of all production data including separation ordersAbility through data analysis to identify issues with the production lines.Monitor and ensure compliance of standard operating procedures within the plantOther duties as assignedMaintenance and EquipmentUnderstand the basic functions and intricacies of machines within the plantEnsure and monitor the daily checks of all equipmentWork with the maintenance team’s scheduling of preventive maintenance for equipmentPersonnel ManagementPerform counseling or coaching, when necessaryMaintain a good rapport with all plant personnel so that issues are communicated and resolvedMake sound decisions as to what, when, and how things should work on a day-to-day basisPut detailed work instructions in place for each piece of equipmentTrain plant personnel to understand procedures and charts, IAW KaizenDevelop training procedures and monitor teams for growthManage all levels of production shifts, quality, sales, training, environmental compliance, and safetyImprove weak areas of shifts and look for ways to drive continuous process improvementsKeep records and training documentation on personnel assigned to productionAssign work assignments to the supervisors, ensure labor distribution is aligned with production needsHelp develop better work practices for teamsProvide weekly feedback to the Plant Manager, addressing concerns, issues, personnel, maintenance practices and plant statusRequired Skills and Education:College degree, preferred - Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering and asset3-5 years of supervisory or management in a manufacturing environmentA strong background in process improvement and lean manufacturing systemsExperience with computerized maintenance program480vAC/3/60 electrical troubleshootingStrong experience with rigging of motors, mechanical conveyors, pulleys and other heavy components, and other manufacturing equipmentLean Manufacturing experience, Six Sigma certification a plusAbility to problem solve and troubleshootGood communications skills – bilingual English/Spanish preferredTeam player, build and motivate teams, lead and contribute to a team effortStrong MS Office required, especially Excel and WordWORKING CONDITIONSMust be able to perform above listed dutiesWill be exposed to dusty and noisy conditions periodically, and outdoor responsibilitiesA mixture of light, moderate and heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical naturePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. 50% bend, stoop, twist, reach, and climb steps. Up to 75% walking or standing required.
