Compliance Advisor

Job Overview The Office of Financial Aid coordinates and administers all student financial assistance awarded to USF students, complying with Federal, State, and Institutional regulations. The office is the primary point of contact for financial aid information for current and prospective students and parents. It manages the awarding and disbursement of over $260 million in financial aid annually, interprets regulatory changes for students—especially first‑generation students—and ensures institutional compliance with federal and state laws as well as NCAA regulations. This role focuses on the awarding and disbursement of aid for USF student‑athletes and supports federal aid programs such as Title IV returns. Responsibilities Award athletic aid and monitor athlete‑specific reports; coordinate refunds with the Student Accounting Services Office. Assist with the review of Return of Title IV (R2T4) aid, federal grant programs, related reports, and uncashed funds. Provide financial aid counseling to prospective and current students and their families regarding eligibility, university policies, and federal and state regulations. Interpret federal, state, institutional, and NCAA rules and policies related to student financial aid. Support other teams within the financial aid office during peak periods. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. At least one year of professional experience in financial aid, student services, or related areas is required; alternatively, two years of demonstrated customer service experience may substitute for the entire one‑year requirement. Degree equivalency: four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree. Senate Bill 1310 requires employment eligibility in the U.S. and permits substitution of postsecondary education with direct experience (see clauses (a)–(e)). Work experience may not substitute for required licensure, certification, or registration for this position. Minimum qualifications requiring only a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
