HOUSEKEEPER POSITION (W-2) Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, experienced, trustworthy, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain a private household in Rockville, Maryland. The successful candidate must communicate effectively in English and take pride in keeping a home clean, organized, and well-maintained. Core Responsibilities * Daily Cleaning: Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting all living areas, bathrooms, and kitchen. * Cat Care Assistance: Daily scooping and refreshing of the cat litter box; cleaning up scattered litter to ensure the area remains clean and odor-free. * Laundry & Linens: Washing, folding, ironing, and putting away clothing; changing bed linens weekly. * Deep Cleaning: Rotating seasonal deep-cleaning tasks, including windows, interior appliances, baseboards, and similar household areas. * Organization: Keeping closets, pantries, and storage areas neat and orderly. * Household Assistance: Emptying trash and recycling, and monitoring household cleaning supply inventory. Employer-Provided Supplies All cleaning equipment, cleaning products, gloves, masks, and other supplies necessary to perform the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the employee. Exclusions (Out of Scope) To ensure clear boundaries and expectations, the following tasks are strictly outside the scope of this position: * Running errands, including grocery shopping, dry cleaning pickups, or other driving-related tasks. * Extended pet care, overnight pet sitting, or transportation of pets to veterinary appointments. * Meal preparation, cooking, or kitchen meal planning. Employment Type & Schedule * Status: Household Employee (W-2) * Standard Hours (Flexible Options): Option A (6-Day Schedule) * Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM * Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Option B (5-Day Schedule) * Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM For both option A and B: * Guaranteed Minimum Schedule: 29 hours per week. * Additional Hours: Up to 5 additional hours per week may occasionally be offered based on household needs. * Overtime: Hours worked over 40 in a workweek will be compensated at the applicable overtime rate required by law. Compensation & Payroll * Hourly Rate: $23.87 per hour for option A and 23.08 for option B. * Guaranteed Gross Base Pay: $3,000 per month. * Payroll Frequency: Employee may choose weekly or bi-weekly payroll. * Legal Payroll: All required federal and state payroll taxes, including Social Security, Medicare (FICA), and unemployment insurance, will be withheld and reported as required by law. * Annual Review: Performance and compensation review after 12 months of employment. Benefits Paid Holidays The following holidays will be paid when they fall on a regularly scheduled workday: * New Year’s Day * Independence Day * Labor Day * Thanksgiving Day * Christmas Day Paid Sick Leave * Up to 32 hours of paid sick leave per calendar year, accruing at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked. (full 6 days of sick leave). * May be used for personal illness, injury, or medical appointments. * A doctor’s note may be requested for absences exceeding three consecutive workdays. Paid Vacation * Eligible for 10 paid business days of vacation per calendar year. * Five (5) vacation days become available after six (6) consecutive months of employment. * The remaining five (5) vacation days become available after twelve (12) consecutive months of employment. * Vacation dates will be scheduled by mutual agreement whenever reasonably possible. * Four weeks’ advance notice is requested for planned vacation. * Any unused accrued vacation balance remaining at the end of the calendar year will be paid out at the employee’s regular hourly rate through payroll, subject to applicable taxes and deductions. Workers’ Compensation Insurance Workers’ Compensation Insurance will be provided as required by law. Requirements * Minimum one year of private residential housekeeping experience. * Verifiable professional references. * Successful completion of a criminal background check. * Fluent or proficient in English. * Comfortable around cats and willing to perform daily litter box maintenance. * No cat allergies that would interfere with job duties. Trial & Probationary Period * Three-day paid trial period. * Four-week probationary period. * Training will be provided by the employer. * During the probationary period, either party may terminate employment with or without notice, subject to applicable law. Transportation The employee is responsible for arriving to work on time using their own transportation.
