- Assess patients of all ages through standardized evaluation methods and observational techniques.
- Design tailored treatment plans that align with both immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals-including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians-to ensure cohesive care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to foster progress beyond the clinical setting.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, promoting seamless care throughout the treatment continuum.
- Document patient progress with utmost accuracy, adhering to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in continuous professional development, remaining abreast of advancements in the field through education and collaboration.
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Florida.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatment strategies for diverse age groups and a deep understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapeutic methods to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
