Position Summary The part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides individualized speech and language services within a Catholic special-needs school dedicated to nurturing the whole child-academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. The SLP supports students with diverse communication needs through personalized assessment, targeted intervention, and close collaboration with teachers, families, and school leadership. This role contributes to a faith-filled, compassionate community where every student is recognized as a child of God with unique gifts and dignity. Key Responsibilities Individualized assessments - Conduct comprehensive evaluations tailored to each student's learning profile, including formal testing, dynamic assessment, and classroom observation. Customized intervention planning - Develop therapy goals that reflect student strengths, developmental needs, and the school's Catholic mission of supporting each learner's God-given potential. Therapy delivery - Provide one-on-one and small-group therapy focused on functional communication, social-pragmatic skills, and language development across academic and faith-based activities. Teacher partnership - Collaborate with teachers, aides, and learning specialists to integrate communication strategies into instruction, liturgical participation, and daily routines. Family collaboration - Maintain warm, proactive communication with families; offer guidance for home carryover; participate in family meetings with sensitivity to faith and community values. Documentation & reporting - Maintain accurate, timely records of services, progress, and recommendations in alignment with school policies and best practices. Community engagement - Participate in school events, prayer services, and professional development to strengthen relationships and contribute to the school's Catholic identity. Experience supporting students with intellectual disabilities, autism, language-based learning differences, or complex communication needs. Respect for and willingness to support the Catholic mission, values, and traditions of the school. AAC experience - Knowledge of low- and high-tech AAC tools for students requiring alternative communication methods. Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-centered learning environment. Work Schedule & Environment Part-time schedule (typically 2-3 days per week; flexible based on student needs).
