Water/Wastewater Senior Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through completion. This role will oversee project scope, programme, budget, quality, risk, procurement, and client expectations while coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders. You will provide strategic direction across the project lifecycle, ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently, sustainably, and in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements.


Key responsibilities will include preparing and managing project execution plans, budgets, schedules, forecasts, risk registers, and change-control processes. You will lead design reviews, constructability assessments, technical coordination, tendering, contract administration, progress reporting, and project governance meetings. The role will also involve monitoring performance against agreed objectives, resolving commercial and technical issues, supporting negotiations, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, regulators, delivery partners, and internal teams. You will promote a proactive health, safety, environmental, and quality culture, while identifying opportunities to improve project outcomes, operational performance, and long-term asset value.


Applicants should have significant experience managing major water, wastewater, utility, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects, ideally within a design-and-build, consultancy, or contractor environment. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is required, along with a strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment, networks, pumping stations, or associated infrastructure. Proven expertise in project controls, contract management, financial management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement is essential. Professional accreditation or membership of an appropriate engineering or project management body would be advantageous. You will be a confident leader and communicator, capable of influencing at all levels, making sound commercial and technical decisions, and motivating teams through complex delivery challenges.
