Oncology Physician Assistant (PA) - Inpatient - Astoria Blvd. - Houston, Tx

Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Physician Assistant to join our team at the Astoria Blvd. location in Houston, Texas. The position may be Level I, II, or Senior depending on experience. Location Astoria Blvd. area, Southeast Houston, part of TxO – Houston Southeast. Why work for us? Advanced Practice Provider Role Under supervision of practice physicians, provide care to cancer patients via clinic or telemedicine. Duties include prevention, screening, patient care, management, research, education, and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated. Performs procedures after appropriate training. Assesses patient/family needs and provides education. Promotes wellness and recommends community resources. Incorporates evidence‑based research into practice. Develops knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion. Provides case management for patients and families, given knowledge of community resources. Provides staff education. Rounding at affiliated hospitals; weekend or after‑hour calls as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification. Level I: 0‑3 years of experience; Level II: 3‑5 years; Level Senior: 6+ years. Active state license to practice as a Physician Assistant. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Physical Demands Full range of motion; handling and lifting patients up to 40 lbs; standing and walking for prolonged periods; requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work Environment Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other common oncology clinic conditions.
