Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students’ growth and independence by providing on-site educational physical therapy for a vibrant school community. This short-term contract spans August 17 through November 4, and offers you the ability to make a pivotal difference for learners across mixed grade levels, with a particular focus on young adults ages 20–22 in a transition program.

You’ll collaborate with a passionate multidisciplinary team, helping students develop, compensate for, or improve their gross motor skills, allowing them to better access their educational environment and reach their fullest potential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Physical Therapist license in good standing
• Proven experience in school-based physical therapy settings
• Pediatric background with strong skills in interventions for older adolescents or young adults
• Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities
• Drive to create supportive, individualized strategies for students with diverse physical needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative physical therapy services in accordance with students’ IEPs
• Assess, plan, and implement appropriate interventions to address gross motor challenges
• Document progress, attend IEP meetings, and collaborate with educational staff and families
• Contribute professional insight to promote adaptive strategies and optimize student participation
• Support transitions for young adults by preparing them for life beyond school
