Description We are accepting applications for the Noncredit Older Adult Art (Watercolor and Drawing) Instructor Adjunct Applicant Pool. Adjunct pools are open on a fiscal year basis for continuous recruitment for department assignments. Please review application material requirements carefully to ensure successful submission. Example of Duties College of the Canyons is seeking adjunct faculty members in the Noncredit Department. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Qualifications and Minimum Requirements Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Art. A Bachelor's degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught, AND either (1) or (2) below: Thirty hours or two semester units of coursework in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the District. This requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor. One year of professional experience working with older adults. An Associate degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; and sixty hours or four semester units of coursework in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the District. This last requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor. Any bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught or the equivalent. Any associate degree and six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught or the equivalent. Possession of a full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter. Desirable Qualifications Please detail on your application if you have experience teaching watercolor and/or drawing classes. Further details may be provided. Assignments May Include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Salary Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $55.54 per hour.
