CNC Lathe Set Up Operator

John Prosock Machine

Job Description

The CNC Lathe Set Up Operator is responsible for the precise setup, programming, and operation of fully automated CNC lathe machines to support medium batch production. This role requires expertise in machine setup, tool adjustment, and quality inspection to ensure production efficiency and product accuracy. The operator will work both independently and collaboratively, adhering to safety protocols while troubleshooting and documenting processes.

Responsibilities

Set up and program fully automated CNC lathe machines
Adjust tools to meet specifications and production requirements
Verify CNC programs for accuracy and efficiency
Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to blueprints
Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and standards
Document setup details, production data, and maintenance activities
Handle materials required for production stages

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in CNC machining

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating CNC lathes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Proficiency in precision measurement techniques
Strong problem-solving skills
High attention to detail
Mechanical aptitude
Effective time management
Good communication skills
Knowledge of safety procedures
