Veterinary Assistant – Full-Time or Part-Time
The Animal Eye Institute – Vandalia, OH

The Animal Eye Institute of Vandalia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This position can be either full-time or part-time, depending on your availability.

Office Hours:
Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Two Saturdays per month: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:
As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our team and ensuring the best care for our patients. Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Safely restraining animals for exams and blood draws
• Performing preliminary ophthalmic tests
• Assisting with surgical procedures
• Preparing and cleaning exam rooms and surgical instruments
• Administering and filling medications
• Communicating effectively with clients
• Maintaining patient records and light paperwork
• Supporting in-house patient care (feeding, walking, cleaning)
• General clinic upkeep (restocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, etc.)

Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable handling medications and exposure to radiography
• Passion for animal care and strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
