QGIS Specialist for AI Research Evaluation

QGIS Specialists apply geographic information system and spatial analysis expertise to evaluate AI-generated spatial outputs, develop domain-specific prompts, and provide targeted feedback that improves AI understanding of GIS tasks and spatial data workflows. This is a project-based, hourly contract role you can perform remotely alongside other commitments.

• Evaluate AI-generated maps, spatial analyses, and other GIS outputs for accuracy, plausibility, and alignment with expected workflows.
• Provide detailed feedback and annotations that help models learn GIS concepts, spatial data handling, and environmental mapping practices.
• Create and refine domain-specific prompts and test LLM responses to spatial queries and tasks.
• Work independently with AI research teams to complete assigned tasks, meet quality guidelines, and document findings.

• At least 1+ year of work experience using QGIS.
• Familiarity with related GIS and spatial data tools and common spatial data formats.
• Experience with spatial data analysis, cartography, or environmental mapping is preferred.
• Ability to work asynchronously and communicate clearly with distributed AI research teams.

• Location: Fully remote, work from any location where you are authorized to work.
• Employment type: Part time, hourly contract work.
• Schedule: Asynchronous and flexible hours, no minimum hour commitment required.
• Project-based engagement, ongoing availability of assignments is variable, placement into specific projects depends on project availability.

Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm whether a particular assignment meets your school''s requirements.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this platform may not meet that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for these projects.
