Aquatics Manager/Leader

As our new Aquatics Manager/Leader, your purpose will be to help us create a fun and professional environment, providing our customers and their children with a great learning experience. You’ll work closely with the franchise owner and our swim instructors to shape our school’s culture and commitment to running a smooth operation. You’ll also play a big role in helping bring more customers to the school and keep them coming back. This is a part‑time position developing into full‑time as we scale. You will need to work flexible hours, including a regular weekend day and evenings. You will need to be able to travel locally in the Greater Santa Clara area to all our pools, as well as travel for aquatic training and conferences. Responsibilities Train the British Swim School program curriculum to children and adults as the Lead Instructor Train all our swim teachers in the BSS swim method, supporting their ongoing development Use BSS Instructor assessment and development tools/checklists to maintain lesson quality Evaluate swim instructor performance and create performance improvement plans as necessary Offer guidance and support when managing difficult class situations Assist with business growth and attracting new customers Enrollment and scheduling Qualifications A proven track record in swimming and fitness teaching/management – a specialist aquatics qualification is desirable but not required Experience working with children and a passion for our mission of water safety and survival At least 2 years of supervisory experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Experience with setting and maintaining standards for a service business – especially if it’s child related Lifeguard certification (or ability to renew) Fluency in English is a must – another language is a real bonus Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate: $28.00 Paid world‑class training including lifeguard certification Role filled with purpose and helping others in a fun environment Dynamics and rewarding corporate culture that fits Opportunities for advancement and career growth Birthdays off paid British Swim School has been teaching the “Survival of the Littlest” since 1981 and offers swimming lessons for babies, children, and adults, focusing first on critical water survival skills.
