Sous Chef - NFL Cafe / Corporate Dining (NYC)
Working as a Sous Chef at the NFL Cafe in NYC, you will be responsible for supporting the culinary operations. This is a Premier Client Caf offering an elevated food program with higher-end standards.
This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule (requires availability from 6 a.m.- 4 p.m., with some weekends required during NFL Season), a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produces culinary creations for the account; cafe, catering, and fine dining service.
- Assists the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
- Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
- Produces and executes catering events
- Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
- Assists the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
Preferred Qualifications:
- A.S. or equivalent experience
- Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
- Catering experience a plus
- High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
- Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet
- Strong client and customer relationship-building skills
- ServSafe certified - highly desirable
