Patient Services Representative

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Patient Services Representative for our busy Southpoint Office. The Patient Service Representative is responsible for insurance verification and eligibility, counseling patients on insurance benefits and co-pays, working account balances and payment collections. Obtains and maintains accurate patient demographics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Ensures all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is obtained from patients and entered into the system in an accurate and timely manner. Registers patients in the system as necessary.
• Collects and reviews all patient insurance information and completes insurance forms.
• Confirms patient insurance verification and eligibility. Assesses patient financial requirements and advises patients and families on insurance benefits, co-pays and financial obligations.
• Works account balances for any; claim errors or adjustments that might be needed.
• Reviews Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for consistency.
• Resolves patient questions and complaints regarding insurance billing and adjusts accounts as necessary. Provides patient documentation for balance explanation.
• Follows-up on assigned accounts for assistance or payment plan agreements.
• Assists in maintaining manuals, logs and other required documentation as required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years in a medical business office setting.

Compensation and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications
