RN - Acute Care Surgery Unit
Join a dedicated healthcare team providing patient and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic surgical unit located in the Midwest region of the United States. This role emphasizes best practices, compassionate service, and upholding professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics and relevant nursing regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
- Apply new knowledge from ongoing education to enhance patient care and promote cost-effective practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and families to deliver exceptional care tailored to patient acuity and technical needs.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, and colleagues by demonstrating respect, integrity, empathy, and teamwork.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by adhering to safety protocols, reporting incidents, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Engage in professional development opportunities, including certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership roles.
- Participate actively in team meetings, peer reviews, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Candidates from non-accredited programs must have at least five years of acute care nursing experience or hold an advanced degree from an accredited institution. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred or must be obtained within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is also acceptable. Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty credentials are required and must be maintained.
Licensure:
Active Registered Nurse licensure in the relevant state is mandatory. This full-time position offers a first-shift schedule with 36 hours per week, providing an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
