Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that emphasizes best practices and exceptional customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements. Acute care settings include medical, surgical, emergency, intensive care, childbirth, pediatric, operating room, perianesthesia, endoscopy, and cardiac cath lab units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly about patient progress and challenges, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
• Engage in professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, leadership opportunities, and evidence-based practice.
• Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentorship and feedback.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications required or obtained upon hire.

Licensure:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift:

Night shift, typically 6:00pm – 6:30am, part-time (24 hours weekly).

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest United States.
