Responsibilities
- Deliver general nursing care using the nursing process, directly or through delegated duties to supervised staff
- Assess patients, plan care, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes with patient and family involvement
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including fluid and respiratory therapies
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize symptoms, report changes, and initiate corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate shift activities, supervise staff, and ensure continuity of nursing services
- Provide patient teaching and discharge planning, addressing knowledge gaps for patients and families
- Apply infection control policies, maintain safety, and uphold confidentiality and professional standards
- Participate in orientation and ongoing education to maintain clinical competence

Requirements
- Current registered nurse license in the state of South Dakota
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to obtain ACLS and PALS within six months of hire
- TNCC certification required for solo Emergency Room coverage within six months of hire
- Willingness to work in a skilled nursing facility setting and fulfill travel assignment requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in emergencies
