This position provides value across the entire auto group through the flexibility to travel between locations. Managers provide vital coverage when a fixed sales or finance manager is away, bringing versatile product, policy, and finance knowledge across different manufacturers and dealerships. They offer a fresh management perspective while moving people through friendliness, professionalism, and confidence.

Essential Functions of the Job Includes the following, with other duties as assigned:

• Customer & Team Interaction: Greet patrons warmly, ensure excellence in customer service, assist the sales team in closing deals, and talk to customers (TO).
• Multi-Location Coverage: Travel to each location to manage customer traffic, assist the General Manager, and take over responsibilities when other sales or Used Car Managers are out or off.
• Sales Floor Management: Prepare and work desk deals, review active prospects with sales consultants, and hold daily sales accountability meetings.
• Staff Development: Manage sales staff, oversee customer follow-up via Vin Solutions, review consultant performance statistics, and mentor or train team members.
• Prospecting & Inventory: Monitor service appointments and Dealer Wizard for new prospects. Appraise vehicles as needed, organize the lot, and clear snow during winter.
• Compliance & Administration: Maintain knowledge of and meet all local, state, and federal compliances regarding the Finance Department and Truth in Lending Acts. Meet business plan goals and recap the month with the GM.
• Appearance & Professionalism: Wear required Fox Valley logo shirts and coordinating business attire; jeans, shorts, and athletic shoes are not allowed.
• Inter-Departmental Support: Provide assistance to other departments as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Provides immediate supervision over a unit, section, or department.
• More than 50% of time is spent assigning, reviewing, and checking work, and eliminating difficulties where procedures are standardized.
• Responsible for supervising more than 2 and seldom over 10 FTEs.
• Accountability for results rests with the next higher level of supervision.

Required Education and Experience

• High school education plus additional specialized training.
• Three years of automotive dealership and/or sales management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge: Secretarial and office practices, accounting, and standard software (spreadsheets, databases, presentations, word processing). Business administration, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, sales/marketing strategies, sales control systems, human psychology, customer service standards, and computer hardware/software.
• Skills: Active listening, excellent communication, complex problem solving, critical thinking, judgment and decision making, performance monitoring, negotiation, and social perceptiveness.
• Abilities: Fluency of ideas, inductive reasoning, originality, and the ability to persuade others.

Physical, Mental, and Visual Demands

• Occasional effort involving lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, carrying, shoveling, or stretching with light weights between 5 to 25 pounds.
• Continuous mental attention, visual demand, and/or manual dexterity required.
• Repetitive or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.

• Occasional exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals that make conditions less than desirable.
