Accounting Assistant Agriculture, food processing, or distribution experience is a plus Compensation: $22.00-$25.00 per hour DOE-CURRENTLY WAITING ON CLIENT TO RECONFIRM FROM OUR DISCUSSION Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our accounting and financial operations across multiple related business entities. This position will assist with accounting reconciliations, financial reporting, and administrative accounting support in an agricultural environment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, accounting experience, proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working with multiple entities and financial records. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Accounting Assistant will provide support in the following areas: Assist with reconciliation of prepaid inventory accounts. Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation for internal management. Maintain organized accounting files and records while ensuring confidentiality of financial information. Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned. The position may involve assisting with some or all of the following accounting and administrative functions: Assist in reviewing and closing monthly QuickBooks balance sheets and income statements for multiple entities. Support preparation and maintenance of financial reports. Assist with preparation of year-end closing and supporting documentation for outside CPA firms. Assist with accounts payable during peak agricultural season (June through November), as needed. Qualifications Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administrative experience preferred Experience with QuickBooks strongly preferred Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills Ability to work accurately with detailed financial information Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Agricultural industry experience is a plus, but not required Associate degree or coursework in accounting/business preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered Flexible schedule may be available Additional hours may be needed during peak agricultural season and year-end processes All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
