About the Position

Job Title: RN Stroke/Neuro PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC experience required - Neuro PCU experience - Cardiac monitoring - Emergency response - Dysrhythmia interpretation/management - IV therapy and central/peripheral line care - Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration) - Respiratory support: nasal cannula and oxygen administration Description: The position involves working in a telemetry PCU specializing in the care and management of patients. Typical staffing ratios are 1:5, with a goal of 1:4 during shifts. The unit is a certified primary stroke center, focusing on stroke and neurology patients. IV drips managed include Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Bumex, Lasix, Lidocaine, and Ketamine. Remote telemetry monitoring will be used on the unit. The emergency response team will respond to codes as needed. Floating to other units may be required based on skillset. Weekends and holiday shifts will be required as outlined in the scheduling policy. All requests for time off must be submitted in advance. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various specialty teams. Experience with telemetry and isolation precautions is essential.
