About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stroke/Neuro PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Cardiac monitoring - Emergency response - Dysrhythmia interpretation/management - IV therapy and phlebotomy - Blood product administration - Central/peripheral line care - Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration) - Respiratory support: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management - Neuro PCU experience - Isolation precautions - Telemetry settings Description: This position involves providing nursing care in a Stroke/Neuro PCU. The unit specializes in the care and management of patients with stroke and other neurological conditions. Patient ratios typically range from 1:4 to 1:5. The unit has telemetry monitoring and implements tele sitting to enhance patient care. Nurses will work with a diverse team and may be required to float to other units within their skillset. Weekend coverage includes 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. Nurses are expected to work one holiday per 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-acuity patient management, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
