Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
- Proven experience working with high school students, ideally in resource and co-teaching settings.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general educators, support staff, and families.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Creative and adaptable approach to addressing individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to high school students identified with special needs in both resource room and general education (co-taught) settings.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction, modify curriculum, and implement accommodations.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and district requirements.
- Actively participate in team meetings, student assessments, and parent conferences.
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages student independence and self-advocacy.
