Contract | Evening Shift | 4x10-Hour Shifts | 13:00–23:30 | On-Site

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a high-acuity, diverse OR environment including orthopedic/total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic surgical specialties
• Assist with and circulate for a broad range of surgical procedures including laparoscopic, robotic (Da Vinci Xi), open, and endoscopic cases
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as required competencies for all RNs in this setting
• Administer blood and blood products, handle and label specimens, and maintain universal protocol including time-out procedures
• Respond to code situations and adhere to fire safety, laser safety, radiation safety, latex allergy, and infection control protocols
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as required and float within the department as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
• Current BLS certification
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV insertion
• Experience across multiple OR specialties including ortho/total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Familiarity with complex vascular procedures such as AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and endovascular aneurysm repair
• Experience with thoracic procedures including VATS, thoracotomy, and lung resection
• Ability to accommodate a block scheduling format
