Join our dynamic team as a 1st shift Operator, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of labeling, processing and packaging product. This position involves operating controls, weighing or scaling bags of product, working off a conveyor, receiving orders, and filling out necessary paperwork. You will operate a machine to load and pack bags of products, set up pallets, and operate a sit-down forklift to move materials to designated areas. Additionally you will help with loading and unloading of trucks, this will included lifting 50 lb. bags of feed throughout the day and assisting with janitorial duties as needed are part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Operate controls and weigh or scale bags of feed.
• Work off a conveyor and receive orders.
• Fill out necessary paperwork and operate bagging machine.
• Set up pallets and operate a sit-down forklift.
• Lift 50 lb. bags of feed throughout the day.
• Assist with janitorial duties as needed.
• Use basic math skills and fill out documentation when receiving deliveries.
• Pull or store inventory to proper location.

Essential Skills

• General labor and production experience.
• Forklift operation skills.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Experience in production, machine operating, forklift, or construction for at least 6 months.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on a farm or feed mill is ideal.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Comfortable with heights.

Work Environment

The facility is non-climate controlled, meaning it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It is very organized but can be dusty, so you must be comfortable working in such conditions. The role is for the 1st shift, operating from 7 am to 3 pm, with 10-20 hours of overtime available each week. Steel-toed boots are mandatory, though shorts are allowed in the summer

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
