Psychiatry, Weekend Psychiatry Opportunity in Albany, NY

Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry at Albany Medical College is seeking a board certified or board eligible attending Psychiatrist to work in Psychiatric Services on Saturdays and Sundays. Hours are 9am-5pm three weekends per month. The Albany Med Psychiatry Service prides itself on maintaining a supportive, collaborative, and respectful educational atmosphere with strong working relationships between faculty and residents and department leadership.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising residents and overall patient care on the 26-bed inpatient unit
\n
• Oversee the consultation-liaison service including consults in the AMC ER and on the medical floors
\n
• Provide care to designated patients with the residents and may be required to provide care separate from the resident work schedule.
\n
• See consultations conducted by psychiatry resident on call and provide education and treatment plan to residents
\n

The inpatient service line is typically completed during the first half of the eight-hour shift and the remainder of the shift allows time to complete consults with the resident in the ER and in the hospital and to be available for guidance and task completion needed on the inpatient unit.

Compensation: Starting base salary 240k-250k negotiable and commensurate with rank and experience. Full time salary prorated based on hours worked.

The candidate is eligible to apply for an academic appointment as Assistant Professor, depending on qualifications and experience.  In addition to this part-time position, per diem weekend options are available.
