Surgical Technologist - SSRS - Resource Team

This is a full time, benefitted position with a varied shift. This role has a bonus up to $7K for eligible new hires. Travel requirements: will be assigned to one of the five Scripps Health hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, San Diego, Torrey Pines, and Chula Vista. Our Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire Scripps Health system. Join our Scripps SSRS team as a surgical tech where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes ensuring operating rooms are ready for surgery, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use. Monitors sterile field throughout procedure. Scrubs for cases, anticipates the needs of the physician and operating team. Takes initiative to utilize appropriate support services to resolve issues. Positions and transports patients. Organizes room cleanup and ensures efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment as necessary. Coordinates outside vendors and trains others that work in the operating room as needed. Other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations in surgical services.

The following are not eligible for hiring incentives: internal candidates, rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago. In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met: must remain in original hired FTE status and shift (if specified in offer letter), must remain in original department/specialty, must remain in original job title. Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Qualifications: required: one (1) year of recent experience as a surgical technologist and completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program. Current American Heart Association BLS required. Excellent communication skills. Basic computer skills. Able to multi-task and work well in a team environment. Detail oriented and able work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment. Preferred qualifications: certified surgical technologist (CST) certification preferred. Two years or more surgical tech experience.
