Responsibilities in Your New Role

• Performing thorough patient assessments, ordering necessary diagnostics, and developing individualized care strategies
• Diagnosing and treating a range of acute, chronic, or episodic conditions, either collaboratively with physicians or independently, depending on your credentials
• Informing both patients and families about health maintenance, prevention strategies, and disease management
• Prescribing necessary medications and treatments within your scope of practice
• Engaging in patient follow-up and long-term care management
• Working alongside interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, coordinated care
• Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)

Education and Credentials Required

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Necessary Licenses and Certifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in California
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
