Client Overview:

Our client is a franchise owner for major fast-food restaurants. Their corporate office handles all payroll and accounting in-house. They are currently looking to add an Accounting Assistant to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$24/hr - $26/hr

Position Overview:

The Accounting Assistant role is a full-time, Monday through Friday position supporting the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities include accounts payable, data entry, general ledger, paperless file maintenance, and future payroll duties.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant:

• Enter daily sales accurately via Excel workbook.
• Heavy Excel use for consolidation into accounting software program.
• Verify all bank activity weekly.
• Monitor store-level discrepancies.
• Process accounts payable invoicing weekly.
• Vendor file maintenance and computer filing.
• Navigate Vendor websites.
• GL entries for end of month, as assigned.
• Cross-train in Payroll, for future shared responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Assistant:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Excel and Office Outlook (Expert to intermediate).
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with accounts payable.
• A minimum of 3 years of general Ledger experience and understanding.
• A minimum of 3 years of payroll experience is required.
• Knowledge of basic office duties.
• Must be driven to enter accurate data.
• Ability to work alone with task lists and step-by-step written instructions.
• Advanced problem-solving skills a must.
• Must enjoy working with numbers and spreadsheets.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak accounting times.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Assistant:

• Sage 300 software experience is a plus.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma is required.
