About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead its nationally recognized model of compassionate medical respite care. The successful candidate will be a transformational leader, stewarding a sacred model of care and guiding the organization through a significant institutional inflection point. This role requires a leader with a deep belief in the power of healing and the importance of respite for the most underserved, and who can bring a passionate, mission-aligned team into the future in creative and impactful ways. Responsibilities include serving as an organizational architect, leading a mission-aligned staff and residential community, and partnering with a board to strengthen governance and build a high-functioning relationship. The ideal CEO will have substantive nonprofit leadership experience, be personally aligned with the values of hospitality, healing, community, and hope, and demonstrate a strong commitment to equity, dignity, and social justice. Key qualifications for the role include financial management and budget oversight, particularly with government grants, as well as skills in board relations and governance partnership. The candidate should possess high emotional intelligence, humility, and a deep commitment to direct service. The role also involves building and expanding a diversified revenue base, with a focus on strengthening individual and foundation donor relationships and developing strategies to reduce dependence on federal government funding.
