Associate Scientist in Protein Mass Spectrometry

Pfizer seeks an Associate Scientist in Protein Mass Spectrometry for the Structural Analytical and Molecular Sciences department in Groton, Connecticut. The role involves developing native MS methods to characterize protein-ligand interactions and supporting multi-disciplinary discovery teams across therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities
- Learn and deploy native mass spectrometry and structural MS methods for protein characterization
- Execute quantitative and qualitative binding studies with protein samples
- Support and maintain open-access MS systems and assist with data collection and processing
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams supporting discovery projects across disease areas
- Document experimental work through timely notebook entries and written communication
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, or related field
- 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience
- Proficiency handling and manipulating recombinant protein samples
- Experience with mass spectrometry instrumentation and data analysis
- Ability to troubleshoot scientific and technical challenges
- Familiarity with AI tools including generative technologies for problem-solving
Compensation: $60,200–$100,400 base salary, plus 7.5% bonus target
