About the Position

Job Title

Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Step-Down)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a progressive care / step-down unit with a patient ratio of 1:3–4
• Perform and manage tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes
• Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips and stable ventilated patients
• Operate unit equipment including patient lifts and related PCU devices
• Document all patient care activities accurately using the Cerner EMR system
• Float to other medical-surgical and progressive care units as needed; weekend commitment includes 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts per 6-week period

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Demonstrated experience working with tracheostomy patients
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend scheduling requirements

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience with Cerner EMR
• Prior PCU, step-down, or progressive care unit background
• High level of clinical competence and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
