Travel RN – Pulmonary Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Weekend requirement: 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts per 6-week period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined 23-bed stepdown and 16-bed med/surg unit with patient ratios of 1:3–4 (stepdown) and 1:4–6 (med/surg)
• Perform and manage tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes
• Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips and stable ventilated patients
• Operate unit equipment including patient lifts, chest tube systems, and associated monitoring devices
• Document accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
• Float to other med/surg and progressive care units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Demonstrated experience working with tracheostomy patients
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Ability to wear navy blue scrubs per unit dress code

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience with Cerner EMR
• Strong flexibility and high level of clinical competence in a stepdown or progressive care environment
