The Payroll Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll-related financial data. This position focuses on payroll analytics, tax compliance, general ledger reconciliation, and union reporting to support financial operations and strategic decision-making.

What you will do...

• Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Review and reconcile federal, state, and local payroll tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Generate and submit union reports in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
• Collaborate with Finance and HR teams to ensure alignment between payroll, accounting, and benefits systems.
• Develop, maintain and distribute payroll reports for internal stakeholders.
• Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from internal and external auditors.
• Assist in implementing system enhancements and automation initiatives related to payroll and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in payroll analysis, tax filing, or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and general accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle) and payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, UKG).
• Familiarity with union reporting requirements and collective bargaining agreements.

Skills

• Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

Pay Range: $70,000
