About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead the modernization of its SaaS platform. The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical leader, deeply involved in software development, and will guide the technical direction of the platform. This role is pivotal in the adoption of AI-driven development practices and the evolution of engineering practices. The VP of Engineering will be responsible for platform modernization initiatives, AI adoption, and will play a key role in the company's engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modern web applications, SaaS platform design, and a deep understanding of software architecture, APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure. Applicants for the Vice President of Engineering position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in an engineering leadership role. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in hands-on development, experience in designing and building scalable SaaS platforms, and the ability to lead technical projects while remaining actively involved in coding. Experience with modern web application technologies, particularly PHP/Laravel and Angular/TypeScript, is desired. The VP of Engineering will also be expected to have a strong background in partnering with product and executive stakeholders, and experience in AI tools and workflows within software development. A background in construction technology, facilities management, or a related industry, as well as experience in small to mid-sized SaaS organizations, is a plus.
