Administrator

Oversee the facility in a professional and respectful manner that enables the facility to use its resources effectively and efficiently to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident. The Administrator will be responsible for overseeing all patient care and business decisions. Most time of the Administrator’s time is spent interacting with residents, families, and staff, or in meetings, and requires excellent skills in time and stress management, a calm, patient, and professional demeanor, and deep understanding of both the clinical and business aspects of running an acute care or nursing facility. Maintain the Rights of Residents as set forth by the Department of Health Laws and Regulations. Responsible for the oversight of all residents to assure they have received appropriate nursing and medical care Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility and keep the organization on track for its longterm goals and mission Ensure contracts with independent contractors for therapy, physician services, pharmacy, and/or dieticians are provided Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure residents’ individual care plans are being followed Coordinate and provide leadership to each department head and ensure an effective and collaborative work environment. Responsible for the actions of all employees, enforcing personnel policies and procedures Ensure adequate numbers of trained staff for each department Hire and manage staff and employees at every level Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations Perform marketing efforts to improve and/or maintain resident census Assures all appropriate and necessary licenses and certifications for the facility Assures adequate inventories of food, chemicals and supplies are maintained Assure that the facility environment and all equipment is in good repair and working order to allow for the provision of a home-like environment for the residents. Provide regular safety and compliance training Create and maintain a budget and oversee billing and set fees Act as the ‘face’ of the organization to the governing board, the public, and residents’ families; and as a liaison between staff, residents, and families Other duties as assigned, with or without reasonable accommodations, to assist in maintaining quality standards and maintaining the facility as a viable and successful entity Physical, Cognitive and Sensory Requirements Expectations Company Culture Acknowledgement Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration or related Two years’ experience as an Administrator of a long-term-care facility Current State appropriate Nursing Home Administrators License Walking, reaching, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling. Ability to remain calm under stress. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents within the facility. Ability to read and write in English. Must be able to lift and transfer a minimum of 25 pounds.
