$100,000–$130,000 Base + $50,000–$70,000+ Performance Bonus | Profit Share Opportunity | $200K+ Earning Potential

About the Role

Simple Lawns & Landscape Design is looking for a Director of Operations to help lead the company through its next stage of growth. This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for driving operational performance, strengthening leadership alignment, building scalable systems, and turning company goals into measurable results.

You’ll serve as a key partner to the owner and leadership team—bringing structure, accountability, and operational discipline while helping build a company capable of scaling toward its long-term $100M vision .

The ideal candidate is strategic, decisive, highly accountable, and energized by a fast-paced, competitive, growth-oriented environment. You’ll combine strong people leadership with financial awareness, process improvement, and a relentless focus on quality, efficiency, profitability, and culture.

Landscaping experience is not required. We’re looking for a strong operator who knows how to lead people, improve businesses, and build systems that support sustainable growth.

Compensation & Schedule

• Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually, based on experience

• Performance Bonus: Eligible after 6 months, with the opportunity to earn an additional $50,000–$70,000+ annually

• Profit Share Opportunity

• Total Earning Potential: $150,000–$200,000+

• Full-time, Monday–Friday

• This role typically averages approximately 50 hours per week

What You'll DoLeadership & Strategic Execution

• Partner closely with the owner as a strategic advisor and operational leader.

• Translate the company’s vision and goals into actionable plans, priorities, and measurable outcomes.

• Keep the leadership team aligned around company objectives, accountability, and execution.

• Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.

Operations & Performance

• Oversee day-to-day operations across teams and departments.

• Establish, monitor, and improve KPIs related to productivity, profitability, quality, and customer experience.

• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.

• Build and improve systems, processes, workflows, and policies that allow the company to grow without sacrificing quality.

• Ensure teams have the tools, resources, training, and processes needed to perform at a high level.

Financial & Business Management

• Manage and monitor departmental and company-level financial performance.

• Partner with leadership on P&L management, forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation .

• Align operational decisions with company financial goals.

• Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce waste, control costs, and increase profitability.

People & Leadership Development

• Lead, coach, develop, and hold managers and team members accountable.

• Support hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and leadership development.

• Develop future leaders and create clear paths for team growth.

• Help maintain a strong, positive, competitive, and values-driven company culture.

Sales, Marketing & Customer Experience

• Partner with sales and marketing leadership to support growth and revenue objectives.

• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, retention, referrals, and upselling.

• Ensure operational execution supports the customer experience promised by the company.

• Help create alignment between sales, production, and administrative teams.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Evaluate existing technology, reporting, and workflow systems.

• Improve communication and accountability across departments.

• Implement processes that increase consistency, visibility, productivity, and efficiency.

• Use data and reporting to identify trends and make informed business decisions.

Vendor, Inventory & Compliance Oversight

• Help optimize purchasing, vendor relationships, inventory, and supply chain costs.

• Maintain appropriate standards for quality, safety, and operational compliance.

• Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed.

• Support regulatory, legal, and environmental compliance across operations.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of leadership or management experience in operations, home services, construction, trades, landscaping, or another field-service/operations-heavy industry

• Proven experience leading teams and managers in a fast-paced environment

• Experience managing KPIs, budgets, financial performance, or a P&L

• Demonstrated ability to improve processes, systems, and operational efficiency

• Strong business judgment and ability to turn strategy into execution

• Confident leadership style with the ability to coach, develop, and hold people accountable

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence

• Comfortable working directly with an owner/CEO and senior leadership team

• Tech-savvy and comfortable using CRM, reporting, and workflow systems

• Highly organized, decisive, and comfortable operating in an environment with ambiguity and rapid growth

• Landscaping experience is not required —strong leadership and operational experience are more important
