That's WEIS! Responsibilities Keep the bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. Smile and greet customers, make suggestions, answer questions about products and cake preparation. Help resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. Takes customer orders over the phone or in person with a pleasant, positive attitude. Determine customer preferences for size, flavor, and appearance. Create finished decorated products in a timely fashion. Decorate cakes and other bakery products using dye, specific designs, or custom designs. Use a variety of creams, frostings, and fillings with consistent outcomes. Make icing for cakes and related products. Adhere to company approved recipes. Trim and cut cakes to required shape and size. Spread icing between layers and on the cake surface. Tint white icing to required colors. Assist in filling and merchandising the bakery sales area while adhering to production logs. Create cakes, pastries, etc. for sale in the service case. Follow rotation and markdown policies to ensure quality and freshness. Help maintain inventory levels with proper ordering and production logging. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries via power or hand jack if properly trained (training provided). May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained (training provided). Maintain general sanitation in the department by following cleaning schedules and guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases clean and compliant with health and OSHA requirements. Properly dispose of trash. Ensure smooth functioning of the department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and supervisors. Continuously improve job performance. Use all company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company‑sponsored footwear. May be called upon to assist in other departments. Responsible for the utilization of all company provided PPE. This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). 1‑2 years’ experience in decorating. Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay for this position starts at $15.00 and is up to $22.00.
