The Certified Medical Assistant helps deliver a seamless member experience by supporting onboarding, care coordination, documentation, and healthcare operations.

Accountabilities:

The Certified Medical Assistant supports clinical operations by managing member interactions, maintaining accurate health information, and assisting care teams with administrative workflows. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across healthcare teams.

• Support member onboarding activities, including intake processes, health profile documentation, medication reconciliation, and verification of provider and pharmacy information.
• Conduct scheduled member calls using established workflows, provide clear guidance, and create a positive healthcare experience.
• Maintain accurate and compliant member health records while following HIPAA standards and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate appointments, scheduling activities, reminders, and follow-up tasks to support smooth care delivery.
• Assist nursing and care management teams with administrative activities, task management, referrals, medication requests, lab reminders, and prior authorization support.
• Capture, update, and validate health information across electronic medical record systems and digital healthcare platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and improve member support processes.
• Participate in team meetings, care planning discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor operational reports and trackers to help identify gaps, improve workflows, and support effective care delivery.
• Provide feedback on processes, technology improvements, and member experience enhancements.
• Support documentation updates, policy improvements, and adoption of new tools and workflows.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a certified healthcare professional with experience supporting clinical teams and engaging with patients in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, healthcare knowledge, and organizational abilities are essential for success in this role.

• National certification as a Medical Assistant required.
• 5+ years of experience working in a healthcare setting with clinical teams, or equivalent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Health Unit Coordinator.
• 2+ years of college education preferred.
• Strong understanding of healthcare practices, medical terminology, patient intake processes, and medication reconciliation.
• Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs), healthcare platforms, and digital communication tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust and empathy with members and teammates.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with initiative to identify challenges and recommend solutions.
• Comfortable adapting to changing processes, technology, and operational priorities.
• Experience with audio/video technology or virtual care platforms preferred.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM PST.
• Must have access to reliable high-speed internet and phone service.
