Position OverviewA Hartford-based law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Attorney to join its growing practice. This position will focus primarily on insurance defense and general civil litigation matters throughout Connecticut.The ideal candidate will have at least three years of litigation experience and be comfortable managing matters through all stages of the litigation process. The attorney will work closely with the firm's managing attorney and experienced paralegal team while developing greater responsibility for their own caseload.This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated attorney who values hands-on litigation experience, collaboration, and the opportunity to handle substantive matters from initial pleadings through resolution or trial.ResponsibilitiesManage insurance defense and general litigation matters throughout all phases of litigationDraft answers, motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation documentsConduct legal research and prepare written analysesManage and respond to written discoveryPrepare for, attend, and defend depositionsRepresent clients in motion hearings, pretrial conferences, mediations, and other court proceedingsEvaluate cases and participate in settlement negotiationsPrepare matters for jury and bench trials and conduct trials as appropriateMaintain regular communication with clients regarding case strategy, developments, and resolutionWork collaboratively with the managing attorney, paralegals, and other members of the legal teamAccurately maintain billable time and case records
