Position SummaryFechko Excavating LLC is seeking experienced Dozer Operators to support road, site, and heavy highway construction projects in the Medina, Ohio area. This is a hands-on field role responsible for operating dozers and related equipment to move and grade material in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, holds safety as a top priority, and brings a strong background in heavy civil or highway construction environments. Responsibilities include operating bulldozers and related heavy equipment to clear, grade, and move material in support of road, site, and highway construction activities. Work from grade stakes, blueprints, and verbal direction to achieve specified elevations, slopes, and tolerances. Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections; identify and report mechanical deficiencies promptly. Conduct routine daily maintenance on assigned equipment including fluid checks, lubrication, and filter inspection. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements always. Required qualifications/skillsDemonstrated experience operating dozers in a heavy highway, road construction, or site development environment.Experience operating dozers equipped with GPS/machine control grade guidance systems (Trimble, Topcon, or equivalent).Current membership in good standing with IUOE Local 18, or eligibility to join prior to start date.Ability to read and work to grade stakes and basic construction plans.Strong commitment to job site safety and adherence to established procedures.Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance tasks.Must be at least 18 years of age.Compensation & BenefitsWages and benefits are governed by the IUOE Local 18 collective bargaining agreement. Current scale is $48.68 plus fringe benefits. Health insurance through the Local 18 benefit funds. Pension and annuity contributions per the CBA. Other benefits include dental and vision coverage, 401(k) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and paid time off.
