Accounting Clerk

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity in Santa Barbara, CA. The Accounting Clerk will support daily financial operations, including invoice processing, reconciliations, recordkeeping, and general accounting department support. Candidates who enjoy accuracy, organization, and working with numbers will be well positioned for success. Key Responsibilities Enter financial data accurately and assist with invoice processing. Reconcile bank statements and help identify or resolve discrepancies. Maintain organized financial records, databases, and supporting documentation. Assist with basic financial reports, summaries, and account updates. Provide general clerical and administrative support to the accounting department. Communicate professionally with internal team members to support timely accounting workflows. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $19 to $25 per hour. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work arrangement: In person. Location: Santa Barbara, CA. Required Qualifications and Skills Support day-to-day accounting operations through data entry, invoice processing, and record maintenance. Reconcile bank statements and assist with resolving discrepancies. Help prepare basic financial reports and accounting summaries. Provide clerical support to keep accounting processes organized and accurate. High school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related field is a plus. 1 to 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, or related office experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with accounting software, such as QuickBooks. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Solid math skills and the ability to work with financial data. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Ability to work full time, in person, in a professional office setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience processing invoices or supporting accounts payable functions. Experience reconciling accounts or bank statements. Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software. Interest in building a long-term career in accounting or finance.
