This fully remote role involves working primarily with individuals and families impacted by cancer diagnoses, providing critical outpatient therapy and support in a detox center environment. Work Environment\n

This role is predominantly remote, leveraging the latest digital technology to provide patient care. However, the position also involves occasional in-person interactions within a climate-controlled setting at our detox center in Salem, Virginia. Daily workflow includes engaging with department team members and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care and continuity within the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct assessments to diagnose and evaluate patients using industry-standard tools, including the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

• Develop individualized treatment plans that address the specific needs and cultural diversity of each patient, using evidence-based practices to guide care.

• Continuously monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies and interventions as necessary to support mental health outcomes effectively.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment records, reports, and necessary clinical information, adhering to both regulatory standards and organizational policies.

• Collaborate closely with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care that aligns with their goals and needs.

• Facilitate referrals and act as a liaison between patients and other service providers, strengthening the support network for each individual.

• Educate and mentor students, interns, and other team members, sharing your knowledge and experiences to foster professional development within the organization.

• Participate in peer review and provide clinical collaboration, chart auditing, and coaching to support the continuous improvement of team performance.

This position specifically focuses on individuals and families affected by cancer diagnoses. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, you will address a wide array of challenges stemming from cancer treatment, including emotional distress, mental health disorders, and family dynamics impacted by illness.
