About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to spearhead a citywide initiative focused on enhancing neighborhood wellbeing and economic mobility. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and leading the initiative's Backbone Organization, a new civic entity that will serve as a central coordinating body for cross-sector efforts. This role involves aligning resources, supporting neighborhood partner organizations, and overseeing a shared strategy aimed at long-term, generational impact. The Executive Director will work closely with public, philanthropic, and community stakeholders to ensure the initiative's goals are met and that the needs of the seven historic communities are effectively addressed. Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a proven track record in community development, social impact, or a related field. The role requires strong leadership skills to build and manage a diverse team, as well as the ability to foster collaboration among various stakeholders. A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the target communities is essential. The ideal candidate will be adept at strategic planning, resource mobilization, and have experience in managing large-scale, multi-faceted initiatives. A background in public policy, urban planning, or a related discipline is a plus, and a commitment to the values of equity, inclusion, and social justice is a must.
