Registered Nurse - MCC

Registered Nurse 2 (RN2) Fulltime, Permanent Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC) Monroe, WA Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday (Mon off) Monthly Salary Range: $7,832.00 – $12,839.00 Hourly Salary Range: $45.01 – $73.79 Shift Differential: $2.50 per hour for evening and night shifts plus additional premiums.

• 1.00 per hour for hours 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3.00 per hour for Friday midnight to Sunday midnight

Responsibilities The registered nurse delivers services that promote health, foster healing, and support coping and adjustment to various health conditions. Screen, assess, and evaluate incarcerated individuals and their conditions. Respond to all other requests for health care attention in a complete, timely, clinically appropriate, and therapeutic manner. Delegate and supervise work, monitor, manage, coordinate, and deliver health care. Plan transition, make referrals, and arrange follow-up when patients transfer or return to the community. Assist patients to improve their skill and ability to provide care for themselves and their family. Provide counseling, consulting, teaching, advising, and health information that improves quality of health services and/or enhances safety and security. On-Call Responsibilities Be available to work all shifts (day, swing, graveyard) including weekends and holidays. Be willing to work a minimum of 10 shifts a month. Provide written availability by the 10th of each month for the following month’s coverage. Be willing to complete a paid three‑week correctional worker core training Monday‑Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Qualifications Initial and continuous licensure in Washington as a Registered Nurse OR a valid unencumbered Multistate License with completion of Suicide Prevention, EDIR training, and MLS demographic survey. At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse. Training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR. Proficient use of computer‑based programs for scheduling, monitoring, data entry, word processing, email, and other essential functions. Ability to work independently and with limited supervision. Willingness to obtain a background check and comply with occupational health requirements as outlined by the Department of Corrections. Physical capability to work in confined spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and lift up to 30 pounds regularly (up to 50 pounds occasionally). Valid U.S. work authorization requiring no sponsorship. Foreign credentialed degrees must have an accepted evaluation from WES or AICE.
