Role Description The Accounts Payable Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Detroit, MI. This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, matching purchase orders, and coding expenses to the appropriate accounts. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing expense reports, reconciling statements, posting journal entries, resolving invoice discrepancies, and assisting with month-end closing activities. The specialist will communicate with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely payments and accurate financial records, while following dealership policies and accounting best practices. The role requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and maintenance of organized documentation. Qualifications Strong accounting skills, including Accounting and Journal Entries (Accounting), with experience in accounts payable processes. Finance knowledge and Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and support accurate reporting. Experience handling Expense Reports, including review, validation, and proper coding of expenditures. Proficiency with accounting or dealership management software and standard office tools (e.g., Excel, spreadsheets). Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and time management skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with vendors and internal teams. Prior experience in automotive, retail, or small-business accounting is beneficial.
