We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator to work at our Ruder Electric company in Kankakee, Illinois. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Serve as a key safety contact for customers, contractors, and regulatory agencies on job sites.
• Prepare and process AIA billings and Time & Material (T&M) billings, ensuring accuracy, contract compliance, and timely submission to clients.
• Maintain and generate job cost reports, tracking project expenditures, labor, materials, and subcontractor costs to support project financial performance.
• Reconcile expense reports, credit cards, gas cards, billings for customers and work performed, transactions, and/or monthly statements as well as investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately.
• Train and provide guidance to Accounting Coordinator I.
• Communicate necessary information to other stakeholders, including operations, purchasing, and finance.
• Understand and comply with company policies and procedures and identify and communicate any potential or actual violations.
• Complete month end reporting preparations, high-level billings, and manage customer requests such as credits/rebills, cost of inventory, W9s, account maintenance, etc.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper files and records.
• Complete various projects throughout the year.
• Additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

• 3+ years of accounting or relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
• Experience in the construction industry is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Billing system experience a plus.
• Strong math skills. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks effectively.
