Sr Director, IT Head of Security Operations

Senior Director leading Gilead's security operations function, reporting to the CISO. Responsible for building and directing teams that protect scientific data, digital assets, and operational environments while partnering with managed service providers to deliver measurable security outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute multi-year security operations strategy aligned with business objectives
• Direct teams providing operational excellence for enterprise security capabilities protecting employees, patients, and research data
• Partner across security, infrastructure, and business functions to translate requirements into clear guidance
• Lead managed service provider partnerships to deliver measurable operational results
• Ensure organization awareness and compliance with security, risk, and compliance requirements

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of cyber security domains including risk management, identity and access management, endpoint and network security
• Proven track record building and developing high-performing security operations teams
• Strategic mindset with demonstrated ability to define and execute multi-year security strategies
• Experience managing managed service provider relationships and driving operational efficiency
• Strong business acumen and ability to serve as trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
• Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and security policy frameworks
